In an interesting turn of events, a talk I proposed based on the MTO on Blast blog post I wrote about my MediaTakeOut Headline Generator was accepted to PyCon 2013. In it, I will be going over how to use Python to scrape content from a site and turn it into funny, semi-sensical jibber-jabber using statistical methods popular in computational linguistics. The talk is March 13, 2013 in Santa Clara, and it should be a lot of fun. I'll be able to bring a lot of the stuff I learned under Jason Baldridge at UT full circle, and hopefully do it in a lighthearted and entertaining manner. Lots of other updates coming as soon as I have time to write them.
